Visit to Mark's M&K Speaker Systems in Shanghai

Raymond, I am at Boston at the moment, and will be back Shanghai in the evening of Jan.21. M&K Shanghai said that they will ship a sets of S150 together with three Parasound JC1 Mono Amps plus a Marantz SA-17 SACD Player to my home by the end of January. So, I think that I could set up system and adjust it in Chinese New Year. This set of M&K is NOT for Home Theatre, but for a Multi-channel Music Enjoyment, this is why I start to collect SACD and DVDA now.

I probably need to buy an Accuphase C-260 as 5.1 Pre-amp for switching sourcing from SACD Player and DVDP.

By the way, I am using Marantz SA-14 Ver. 2 SACD Player. Since you are now starting to collect SACD disc and DVD Audio disc, I wonder whether I can bring for you from HK any titles that you may wish. I notice in Shanghai, there are not many titles for selection and the price is very very high. Please let me know, I can do whatever you would like me to get them.

This afternoon, I have paid a visit with Brian to Mark's (our AV100Fun friend) home theatre in Shanghai to appreciate his new M&K Speaker System as well as his new Marantz DV9500.

Although Mark has not completed the process on fine tuning and positioning of the speakers and associated settings, his M&K speakers do provide very accurate focus on sound as well as very good surround effects. The new Marantz DV9500 also provides very good picture quality (better than his old Sony DVDP) via the sharp Z201 DLP projector.

As requested by Racingboy Tai Gor, I have tried my best to take some photos of his setup to share our happiness exclusively with AV100Fun brothers. However, sorry for the poor picture quality as I have no high-end DSLR camera and no triport.

By the way, I just get off the plane from Shanghai. However, I will travel to Shanghai with my wife for Chinese New Year Holiday to nearby cities. The following are my itinerary:

Brothers, M&K 150 speakers are held in Shanghai Customs and I do think maybe I can get them two weeks late. But I have a set of white M&K150 already, which are M&K Shanghai leave at my home free for tryout. So, you could hear this set when you all come to my home. Marantz SACD player does not arrive yet, so I use a Denon 2900 for playing back SACD & DVDA.

Raymond, thanks for your kindness to buy more SACD & DVDA for me, but I have collected some while I was in NA. Maybe need your help in future.

I am planning to playback the same CDs from three systems for your reference:
