raymond 兄, i bought a tvix 5100 a few months ago, but i can't play those files of 1080p source. look at my samples:

Please update the latest firmware and will likely solve the problems.

Try them out to see whether they work and stable for your mkv files.

If not, you can also go back to previous version of firmware.

B. Press the Function button on your remote controller.
C. Select the fourth icon to set up the password like the picture below.
D. Press a four-digit number and once again the number ( Ex: 1234).
E. Press the OK button to set up.

Change and Remove the password icons can be activated when the password exists.
If you insert a wrong password, TViX automatically goes to the file-selecting page.
If you forget the password, please remove .pss file after connecting the TViX to your PC.
The password should consist of numbers only.

- Change default Birghtness and Contrast value.

Yes.

You can attach 2 external Hard Disk via the 2 USB host connection point.

You can also connect it to your local networks (other computers) using LAN and USB Target.

I wonder which speaker systems you refer to, AV or HiFi or both ??



Here are the speaker connections cables that I use currently:

(1) AV Main Front : M&K MPS 2510P --> no speaker cable but use Canare XLR cable for connections as it is an Active Speaker.

(2) AV Surrounds : M&K MPS 2525 & MPS 1525 --> Sound From Heaven President II (single run)

(3) HiFi Speakers : Avalon Ascendant II --> Sound From Heaven President II (double run)

do you think it is better to ahve separate 2 AV system
HD amp + BD and lexicon + DVD

or get a cheap HD amp with BD and by pass lexicon for output?

I have already got my Integra DTC-9.8





I will first use the Integra DTC-9.8 as AAC & HD decoder rather than AV Processor.

The 5.1 will be output from DTC-9.8 and input to Lexicon MC-12B for surround sound processing.

With the Logic7 and powerful EQ, Lexicon has much better power on handling sound effects than DTC-9.8.

Besides, Lexicon has more sophisticated bass management with 3 subwoofers output (DTC-9.8 only has 1 output).



Anyway, later I will try using the Integra DTC-9.8 as AV Processor to compare the effect.

In fact, most of the inter-connect links for audio are XLR Balanced Cables within my AV system except the 5.1 analog.

Therefore, I dig out from my surplus items 3 pairs (6 Nos.) RCA cables used in the old days.
Hisago HD-AP28 PC-OCC (6N OFC) High Grade Audio Cable - Made in Japan
I use them as 5.1 RCA connections between DTC-9.8 and Lexicon MC-12B.
The performance is satisfactory.

Lexicon MC-12B perform surround sound processing while DTC-9.8 handle HD Audio decoding and Video switching.

All the HDMI cables are connected within DTC-9.8 (4 in 2 out switching).
HDMI Cables: Wireworld Silver Starlight for 1080P and Wireworld Ultraviolet for 1080i/720P.

HDMI Input: --> DTC-9.8
(1) Blu-ray Player: Denon 2500 BTCi [1080P: Silver Starlight 1m]
(2) DVD Player: Marantz DV9500 [720P: Ultraviolet 1m]
