Have you compared Playback Design CDP+DAC against Mark Levinson No.31.5 + No.30.6 ?

無比較過, 我連Playback部DAC都未見過.
正確D講, 家中所有器材除咗Cerabase之外, 由喇叭、TV到每一條線, 我都無親眼見過或聽過, 只是憑直覺購買.

Cocacola hing, did you compare cd to cd not SACD to CD? i am sure EMM SACD wins Playback CD however i dont like EMM CD performance even it cost over 130K as i have only 10 SACD, it is not worth to buy a SACD palyer. therefore better focus on CDP

i heard that Billy Woodman recommend Playback Design instead of emmlabs (previous combo) and asked the HK agent to get it

that's why I am upset tonight.........but since I won't upgrade my cdp until mar/apr, I will try it out again after my friend's one is more run in.

heard that 1000 hours is the break point....

no to buy.....

How much of playback design cdt and dac

pls note that playback does not have cdt yet. the mps-5 itself is a cdp, but ofcourse u could use it only as a cdt and output to dac

not musical - i dont mean sweet or rich. it cannot let me enjoy the music but SACD part is
i compared both CDP and CDT + DAC of EMM, the price is almost double. i wl buy CDT + DAC than CDP. however i seldom listen to SACD, therefore i will not consider both.

thanks for ur advice. will pay more attention for next audition. how about the cd performance of playback vs. emm? have u compared it?

i recently went to mk to test esoteric cdp (x-03) --> mcintosh 2300. the result is ok. esoteric worths its fame for deliverying high resolution. but not too much my taste.

有前輩 , 去到真係Top level. 跟本無分Hi FI 聲或音樂味, 幾10個 , 應該不可以側重某一part

i thought orpheus dac only accept usb input? also, i thought orpheus is not cheap.

ur 前輩 has his grounds. i am also trying to look for source (cdt/dac/cdp) which produce high resolution and less tone/taste, i know burmester or eso have their strength in this aspect. but honestly, after auditing these players, i really don't find them touching or at least attracts me to listen to them for even an hour. just my personal feeling
