Eye opening test drive with Huawei’s Aito M5. They took us to the highway with the car on complete self drive mode.
Highlights:
- owner can command the car to come to you from the Carpark
- the car can park by itself. It can park by the roadside without parking lot marks;
- we set the destination and the car will steer us to the destination. For the whole journey, the driver did not touch the steering wheel;
- when the driver touches the steering wheel, auto drive will stop and the driver will get complete control back on the car;
- auto-drive works on road with or without road marks;
- as far as I have experienced, Huawei autodrive can handle safely the chaotic road condition in China with car cutting your line suddenly;
- according to the Huawei rep, auto drive will park the car by the road side if it catches the driver dosing off three times within 48 seconds
- auto drive has three driving modes and styles to choose from: agile, standard and gentle!
Apart from this, the car is under your voice control on anything - opening window, changing cabin temperature, choosing songs or movie…..etc
This is reality - not fiction.
For the test drive M5 SUV, it is only selling for RMB280,000! I will be waiting for the M9 which will come out next month.
