I will have a check later during weekend using the XTZ again to identify any apparent discrepancy.



Anyway, I consider the "Anechoic" Results within the Full Range are just for indication as they are not the actual situations in typical AV area of normal home theatre. May be they are just calculated or theoretical values only. I may need to check with XTZ supportive services for details.

The "Ambient" and "Raw" may be more real life overall response of the measurements for the actual listening environment.

In fact, I do not really care the readings or graphs from Full Range Views.

The more useful graphs are Frequency Response Curve, RTA and may be RT60.

Please note the RTA graph from my AV area which do not show major dip and peak in normal audible frequency range. These readings are real and actual data reflecting the instant frequency response from your listening environment.



I believe the XTZ Room Analyzer or similar softwares are just tools providing various information for you.

You need to make use of them (those relevant data) for fine tuning your system.

As I have mentioned before, I purchase this software & mic & sound card combo in order to have a user friendly tool on understanding the actual conditions, changes, etc for possible enhancement of the placement of the 4 subwoofers within my small home.

Honestly, I care more about the low frequency, I am quite happy about the mid and high frequency for AV application.

If I have time, I will also carry out similar study and test using my HiFi stereo speaker to see the actual 2 channel response.



After all, the main purpose that I purchase the XTZ Analyzer is trying to set up the subwoofers properly.



I consider for a more easy way, one can just use SVS AS-EQ1 which is a tool with both Room Analyzer and PEQ functions for your subwoofers.

However, you do not know what actually it has been performed for you.

With the external software, you will at least know the problem of your room and then do appropriate corrective actions trying to make good.

Do it yourself sometime will be fun part. Besides, you can learn and realise how to do it right.

如只有一峰值，理論上，按建議在 Subwoofer 設定相應的 Q 及 Gain 值

this software is good or not, I heard about this software had many 爭議性的問題, but actually I dont know much for it

I consider this XTZ Room Analyzer is easy to use.

There is no fancy setup or calibration needs for sound card, mic or sound pressure meter, etc.

Just install the software and connect the supplied USB cable to computer and RCA cable from mic base to AVP. Then measurements can be taken immediately. Even a computer idiot like me, I can do it right and get it done easily.

I find the results are accurate enough for normal home theatre users and the measurements are fast and repeatable.

The price should be around HK$2K and you can check with the HK agent for the current price (e.g. HK$1,950).

The free REW is also useful but setup and using are not as easy as XTZ.

If calibrated properly, REW can give you plenty of useful information as well.



I suggest you first play around with REW first. If you can handle it properly and find the results are good. You can stick onto it and there is no need to buy the XTZ.

All you need is download the REW and buy a good mic or sound pressure meter which you may have it already.

You already have a sound card with your computer. Therefore, you are ready to take measurements with REW.
