


When a stereo DAC is used in dual mono mode (i.e. 1 stereo DAC for 1 Channel), one of the properties that changes is the SNR.
Typically a gain of 6dB is made when using a DAC in this way.



However, once you get over 110dB SNR, the differences are largely irrelevant.
Anyway, you also gain channel separation by ensuring discerete DACs.



However, the DAC is only 50% for overall audio performance.
The choice of op-amps, capacitors, and power supply make the other 50%.



Also for DACs, the linearity doesn't vary so much.
But distortion and particularly slew rate for dynamic movies can make a large difference.
