I brought it at Feb2006, they have online promotion, USD888 each. I got 2 = USD1776

but now, they increase the price....

I used to connect it to Arcam AVP700 pre amp and also tried on my new toy--Onkyo Integra Research RDC7.1

The sound is Clean and Power. A good power amp. However, I sold already....because I need money to buy another toy.

I didn't try the 501 model, but 501 also a mono block, for just 2xxx difference, I recommend to use 1001.

If I have money, I would like to use 3xAR1001 to drive the LCR with 2x 202 for 4 surround. But you need to consider the expenses about the power cord. It is quite sensitive. On the other hand, you may tried Parasoun (pls ask bean bean and raymond about its performance) and Rotel new power amp (also use ICEpower module)

Recently, I've got 2 x Parasound A23 (2 Channel Power Amp) for a pair of surround M&K MPS 2525 and a pair of rear surround M&K MPS 1525. The initial feel and impression are very good as the sound from them is fast, clean, detail and punch.

The total cost for 2 x A23 (4 channel) is just slightly less than 1 x A52 (5 channel). No regret to have purchased these two Parasound A23 for my system. However, you need to select the right power amp to match your speakers not just your AV Amp.





If you do not need balanced input, you can consider Parasound Classic Series which should be cheaper.
